Abstract
High-Voltage Circuit Breaker (HVCB) is one of the most important devices in Power System, which runs normally can ensure its safety. But during HVCB operations, most of the faults were caused by the abnormal work of its mechanical structures. A new method is presented in this paper, which is used to analyze the work conditions of the mechanical structures of the HVCB. The procedure employs wavelets transform to get the parameters from the vibration signals of the mechanical structures based on the theory of fractals, which are used to evaluate the performance of them. In this paper, those data from the experiments is processed to introduce the algorithm, and by contrasting with the data from a fault condition of the mechanical structures, the validity of the method is proved
