Abstract
In this paper, after compared conventional CSC-HVDC system with VSC-HVDC system, a digital simulation model and its control scheme for hybrid three-terminal HVDC system based on VSC and CSC converters is proposed. The VSC is paralleled with the hybrid MTDC system, and can work either as a rectifier or as an inverter. Moreover, the performance of the hybrid MTDC system under different operation conditions is also analyzed, including system start-up, normal state system operations, and voltage decrease on the AC side of the VSC converter. The simulation results have proved the feasibility of the proposed hybrid MTDC model and its control scheme.
