Abstract :
ATM networks are designed for the transmission of a wide variety of applications, each having different traffic characteristics. A cellular automaton (CA) can effectively generate random patterns which have good randomness characteristics. This paper makes the first step to use 1-D LHCA (one-dimensional linear hybrid CA) to generate random traffic distributions for ATM networks
