Abstract :
In this paper we present some results on the combined time and lag weightings. Five generalized families of lag and spectral weightings have been considered. The important parameters such as the shape factor, effective bandwidth, half-power bandwidth, etc. have been computed for all the families under study. Though the bandwidths vary significantly for different weightings, it has been observed that the ratio of the effective bandwidth to half-power bandwidth is more stable. It has been found that this change is within ± 4 per cent for the wide variety of weightings. Window families having varying sidelobe levels and main-lobe widths have been considered in this study. The class of window families considered include Blackman -Harris, Sum-Cosine, raised-Cosine, modified zeroth-order and first-order Bessel.
