Abstract :
We present the experimental study on transverse mode control in VCSEL utilizing finite-area single-layer high-index-contrast subwavelength grating. A 2 mW, single transverse mode (30 dB) emission can be obtained for HCG-VCSEL with oxide aperture up to 10 mum.
