Abstract
Electricity retail market models applied across Europe differ significantly from each other. The models used in the Nordic countries are not similar either. Some aspects of them will, however, experience harmonization because of the aim of a common Nordic end-user market for electricity. Lately, there has also been discussion about a need to harmonize models all over Europe. This paper presents the current features of retail market models applied in the Nordic countries and discusses the future changes that may occur. Also Nordic industry´s views concerning retail market models are discussed.
