  • Abstract
    Reactive power compensation of a Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) employing three-level inverter based on diode-clamped was realized using alternation working switch order based pulse width modulation (PWM). The design of alternation working switch order based PWM and its realization based on DSP was described. A scale model simulation of the proposed STATCOM was accomplished to study the alternation working switch order based PWM control. The simulation results show that STATCOM employing the three-level inverter provides good performance such as enlarging capacity and decreasing even frequency harmonics, and the control of alternation working switch order based PWM can be applied in related research fields.
