Abstract :
A novel arrow-shaped slot antenna fed by coplanar waveguide (CPW) is presented for ultra wideband (UWB) applications. By means of a slightly increased operational bandwidth, improvements in the full range of frequencies allocated for UWB applications have been achieved, while providing a better robustness for deviations induced by the electrical coupling with the entire system and a higher tolerance margin during the fabrication process. The fabricated UWB antenna demonstrates very good impedance matching with a measured bandwidth of 114.18% for a VSWR les 2, along with a stable radiation pattern in the entire frequency spectrum assigned for UWB applications.
