Abstract :
This paper presents the importance of distributed antenna system (DAS) in the upcoming years. DAS will be the key to the success of 4th generation (4G) wireless system and wireless local area network (WLAN). We have studied the different prospects to improve the indoor wireless coverage by using DAS. We have evaluated the use of optical fiber in the upcoming high speed wireless broadband services. Further, we have investigated the performance of WLAN using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signals in the presence of 4G wireless signals on a designed radio over fiber (ROF) system along with proposed pre-distortion method. The system performance is measured using the error vector magnitude (EVM) measurements and symbol error rate (SER).
