Abstract
Summary form only given. We investigate the process of forming of ion flows due to electric isolated surface irradiation by means of an electron beam that is placed in the plasma area created by the same electron beam. This method comparatively easily allows one to obtain a monoenergetic ion beam with the energies from 25 to 500 eV, with current density about 10 mA/cm/sup 2/ and gas pressure from 10/sup -4/ to 10/sup -3/ torr. An electron beam is formed by an electron source presenting a reflecting discharge with a hot cathode in longitudinal nonhomogeneous magnetic field and it works in the mode of plasma beam break-down of disruptive distance. The electron beam energy is in the range from 50 to 500 eV. The heater current being from 0.5 to 5 A. The maximum magnetic field strength is from 500 to 800 Oe.
