Abstract
A reliable aircraft sensor failure detection and identification (FDI) technique is presented. The technique exploits the kinetic and dynamic relationships that exist between variables measured by dissimilar sensors to identify failures in the sensors. The method is applied to management of dual redundant sensors on the NASA F-8 digital flyby-wire (DFBW) research aircraft.
