Abstract :
We investigate sub-threshold modes in single-mode vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSEL´s). These modes produce beating in the emission of VCSEL´s after femtosecond optical pulse injection. The results provide information on the stability of the single-mode regime.
