Abstract :
In this paper, we present a Web-based intelligent tutoring system for English dictation automatic correction, called EDAC. The design of the system includes two essential elements, the speech synthesis system and the automatic correction system. Formant synthesis has been chosen as it includes smaller speech databases for waveform concatenation and enhancement of certain speech cues for sub-optimal listening environments. EDAC uses JavaScript to correct user´s dictation after executing a query to get the answer from the SQL Sever database.
