Abstract :
In this paper, we combine grey theorem with fuzzy control. The main focuses of this paper are (1) applying this to the active suspension system and (2) discussing the effectiveness of the Grey-Fuzzy controller by the following performance indexes which include Ride Comfort Index (Ratio-VA), Pitch Motion Index (Ratio-PA), and Roll Motion Index (Ratio-RA). These performance indices indicate the ride comfort, handling quality and suspension compactness of a car. The grey-fuzzy control reduces the oscillation of the vehicle. As a result, passengers will not only feel an increased comfort and quality of ride, but also have an increased sense of the safety of the vehicle. Satisfactory performances have been achieved by such a grey-fuzzy control scheme.
