  • Abstract
DMC and GPC are two predictive control algorithms for linear or quasi-linear systems. The DMC algorithm has a very elegant and simple structure, making it much more preferable than GPC in process industries. In this paper we give a new implementation of GPC. It is in the state-space domain, has a structure very similar to that of the state-space DMC, and uses a simple recursion in place of the Diophantine equation, which has been notorious for its difficulty to be understood by control engineers and students. Our implementation is illustrated with a Matlab Simulink model and simulations show its effectiveness.
