Abstract
The paper illustrates the advantages arising from the use of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Techniques for the design, simulation, verification and implementation of a complete electric drive system. The implementation of a modern machine control strategy requiring high speed calculation into Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) is described. The design of the electric drive system from ASICs to the final Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and complete system commissioning is presented as a practical example
