Abstract
It is well-known that low delay IIR QMF banks induce phase distortions which restrict their suitability for communications, speech processing and audio systems. We describe investigations of the perceptive quality of different IIR QMF bank structures and propose structural means to reduce the subjective perception of phase distortions. The filterbanks are implemented in a special DSP32C signal processor environment enabling the real time processing of sufficiently large speech records
