Abstract
Compared to the traditional stand-alone game client, browser-based Multiplayer Online Game (MOG), which requires no explicit installation and is able to achieve cross-platform easily, is getting more and more popular. With the rapid development of HTML5 standard and other Web technologies, MOG systems based on WebGL and WebSocket seem to be very promising. We implemented such a framework for browser based multiplayer online games and studied its performance and feasibility. Our analytical result shows that Three.js 3D Engine and jWebSocket based MOG can easily support the interaction of a small group of users.
