Abstract
This work deals with the dynamics analysis and design problem of observers with quantized outputs. The stability of the observers in presence of quantization effects is studied by the Lyapunov stability criterion. An upper bound of the estimation error that can guarantee the observer to be asymptotically convergent is derived. A modified observer containing dead-zone nonlinearity is proposed, with which the tracking error can be driven to zero provided that the system matrix is Hurwitz.
