Abstract :
For arbitrary distribution of the additive interference at the communication receiver, we propose a new approach for the signal estimation/detection problems in the FIR channel. By applying the Bayesian law, the MAP estimator/detector are obtained. The complexity of the proposed algorithms are lower than the Viterbi decoder. As an example, the binary signal sequence is recovered from the measurement data corrupted by a highly impulsive noise process with symmetric /spl alpha/-stable distribution.
