Abstract
Traditional hardware description languages are appropriate for DSP systems. We have designed and implemented an applicative systems descriptions language with a novel type system that can capture fine details of finite precision arithmetic in addition to synchronization constraints. The main characteristics of this language as well as examples of design transformation using it are presented.
