Abstract :
Recently, IP networks including the Internet have progressed rapidly, and new services such as VoIP supplementary services have been provided by interworking between traditional telephone networks (eg, PSTN and ISDN) and IP networks. There have been many discussions about providing seamless services over both the traditional telephone networks and IP networks using an advanced intelligent network (IN). However, the following issues in controlling IP telephones using an advanced IN have not yet been solved. We propose one solution to the following issues: (1) the state model in IP networks for an advanced IN to control RAS (registration admission and status); (2) a new interface between an advanced IN and IP networks for an advanced IN to control RAS; (3) extension of the current SCF-SSF for an advanced IN to control Q.931/Q.932 (H.225) and SIP
