Types and characteristics of cultural landscape in traditional village

With the modern development of heritage protection, urbanization brings the lost to the rural culture landscape and modern society desire to the protection of the rural culture landscape, the rural culture landscape becomes the hot spot among the scholars. This paper starts from the natural and human elements composing of rural culture landscape, discusses the types both in material and non-material landscape of rural culture landscape, and summarizes six basic characteristics of traditional rural culture landscape in China: universality and complexity, regional characteristics, inheritance, natural dependence, relative stability, introversion and openness. It is in order to guide better protection of traditional rural culture landscape, and provide a reference for the research of traditional rural culture landscape.
