Abstract :
We investigate a broadcast transmission strategy for the single-user slowly fading Gaussian channel where the channel state is assumed to be known at the receiver end only. This strategy facilitates one to adapt the transmission rate to the actual channel conditions without having any feedback link to the transmitter. In essence this strategy enables one to simultaneously implement a continuum of capacity versus outage values rather than a single pair as is the case in the more standard approach
