Abstract :
Ontologies play a crucial role in the layered architecture of the semantic Web. Conclusions drawn from inconsistent ontology may be completely meaningless. In this paper, we firstly analysis the occurrence of inconsistent ontology and conclude that the essence of inconsistency is polysemy and synonymy. Secondly, we find methods to deal with polysemy and synonymy. Finally, we put forward algorithm for the superposition of membership degree. The methods can be used as a foundation of inconsistency elimination as well as a basis for future research on fuzzy ontology reasoning.
