Abstract :
In this paper we present a pupil location method based on the Laplace operator and region-growing. Firstly, it finds a point in the pupil by gray summing operator for ensuring the beginning point of region-growing in the pupil, then it adopts Laplace operator to sharpen the image and reduce the interference of eyelash and eyelid for region-growing. Thirdly it ensures the pupil area by region-growing method and gets binary image. Finally in the binary image it uses Hough transform in certain area to fit the pupil edge. 756 eye images comprising an eye image database are located, our algorithm reaches 100% at accuracy. What is more, it ensures the robustness of location.
