Abstract :
The authors present a short account of the principal ideas underlying the much-sought reorganisation and re-structuring of traditional university courses in the area of electrical engineering. Critical issues are examined and a set of clarifying methodological principles is proposed. This is, in fact, a so to speak zeroth order treatment: it is more a problem definition, a bunch of puzzling questions, than a plethora of solutions. Nevertheless, we eagerly expect to have raised the relevant questions
