Abstract :
This paper introduces the design and implementation of a Multi-function Vehicle Bus (MVB) controller card. MVB was originally designed for railway vehicles, but its advantages in real-time data transmission and relatively high noise immunity make it possible for coal mine environment monitoring applications. In this work, we propose a MVB controller architecture that can serve as the controller of a set of networked sensors. The proposed architecture is implemented as a circuit card firmware running on FPGA. The experiment results demonstrate that the MVB controller delivers superior performance.
