Abstract :
HTTP Streaming plays an important role in today´s multimedia distribution over internet. Besides the data rate of network, the quality of user experience of HTTP Streaming is also related to multimedia´s distortion that server could limit under a certain bit-rate. Given a specific bandwidth, how to provide the HTTP Streaming client the multimedia content with the least distortion in HTTP Streaming system is what this paper want to discuss, which we call Rate-Distortion Optimization problem in HTTP Streaming.
