Abstract
The design of paraunitary analysis/synthesis multirate filter banks when the analysis/synthesis filters are optimized to the input signal have recently received a great deal of attention in the literature. These systems are designed for maximal energy compactness which in turn maximize theoretical coding gain. In a previous paper, 2D factorizable FIR optimal paraunitary multirate filter bank systems are discussed. This paper will address the 2D complete version of the systems, termed 2D complete FIR principal component filter banks (PCFB´s). Experimental results demonstrate the potentials of the systems
