Abstract
Data mining is widely used for decision making in educational system. One of the most extensively used supervised learning methods i.e. decision tree classifier for data exploration based on divide & conquer technique. This paper discusses use of decision trees in educational data mining. Decision tree algorithms are applied on Company´s previous year data to generate the model and this model can be used to predict the students´ eligibility in various companies. This will help students to identify the category of company in which they are eligible and prepare accordingly in a an efficient manner.
