Abstract
In this paper, an improved differential evolution (IDE) algorithm with adaptive mechanism is proposed to solve the reliability redundancy allocation problem. This algorithm modifies scale factor, crossover rate. Experimental results over two benchmark problems demonstrate that proposed IDE has effectiveness and efficiency than other algorithm reported in literatures about the reliability redundancy allocation problem.
