Abstract :
The latest HDMI1.4a Specification standardizes 3D formats, which conform the HDMI devices to be universal with each other. These 3D formats cover most of the consumer electronic 3D devices such as 3D blue-ray player, 3D game machine, 3D set-top box, etc. However, there is still no ASIC solution to Full-Support HDMI1.4a 3D formats presently. In this paper, a low-cost solution based on FPGA has been proposed to support the display of Frame Packing 3D format on DLP projector. Frame Packing is one of the main 3D formats defined by HDMI1.4a, and it is commonly adopted by the 3D blue-ray players and game machines.
