Abstract
Mobile learning emphasizes learning anywhere, anytime and on any devices. Its successful adoption depends on at least three key factors, namely, technological feasibility of mobile learning, students´ needs of flexible learning, and pedagogical benefits. In recent years, with a high adoption rate of mobile and Wi-Fi networks and the availability of sophisticated mobile devices, mobile learning has become technically feasible. Many students have accustomed to mobile network, resulting in an increasing demand of flexible learning through the mobile network. Positive responses are received in a recent survey on students´ acceptance and likeliness to use mobile devices for study purposes. This paper investigates the readiness of mobile learning in open education with respect to the technological feasibility, students´ needs and pedagogical benefits.
