A multi-purpose speech understanding system

The speech understanding system which has been developped by the C.N.E.T. in Lannion is easily adaptable to different applications without deep modifications. It can be described as a set of independant modules representing an input-output device for a more general Telecommunication system. The present version includes a channel vocoder analyzer, its synthesizer and the four following units : a phonetic analyzer a lexical analyzer a syntactic analyzer a pragmatic module. A prosodic module and a new semantic and pragmatic module will be integrated in a coming version, together with a grapheme-phoneme transcriptor and a synthesizer. Some results are given and orientations are presented.
