Abstract :
ICMF/L1 is a poly-level language designed to facilitate microprogramming for the Integer Coefficients Microprogrammed Filter ICMF. It is based on APL syntactic rules and has its inherent facilities, independently from the APL level installed. Compilation, assembly, update and microprogram output aids are provided to enable a widespread use by hardware specialists, in a large variety of structural combinations : intermixing APL statements with ICMF/L1 instructions, macro creation and Imbedding, address relocation, program loops, listing after or during compilation, output to magnetic or punched cards. Modular subsets of microprograms can be easily defined to meet different needs. Performance in on-line compilation and assembly is particularly interesting.
