Research on Molding and Design of Waterfront Space from the Perspective of Region Culture -- A Case Study on the Water System Renovation of Chaohu City

The paper intends to probe into the molding and design of waterfront space from the perspective of region culture. In this article, the author takes the renovation project of river system around Chaohu City as a study case. By comparing the designs of waterfront spaces at home and abroad, the author comes to their different designs methods and tourist development strategies and analsizes historic background and times characters in innovating river system around Chaohu City. Basing on the above-mentioned study, the author concludes that the design of city waterfront space has to embody the ideology of "region, history, space and transition".
