Abstract :
Optical networks are mainly considered as backbones to convey data, voice and video in telecommunication applications by providing considerable bandwidth where quality of service (QoS) sensitive applications rely on bandwidth availability of communications infrastructure. The increasing rate of ICT services over Internet causes a growing bandwidth requests which is a source of demand uncertainty in communication networks. This paper presents a capacity allocation scheme for optical networks in uncertain environments where the traffic information is inexact. The problem is considered as a multi-commodity network problem. The node-arc approach is employed for determining link capacity considering traffic uncertainty.
