Abstract :
Cell partitioning based channel assignment (CPCA) that increases the system capacity of the DS-CDMA cellular system is presented. Analysis is carried out for the reverse link (mobile to base station) channel using a simple geometric modeling technique for the spatial location of cells. We derive the capacity equation of reverse link in subareas of a cell and analyze the effects of cell partitioning on the system capacity for the reverse link in a DS-CDMA cellular system. Our analysis shows that the capacity of CPCA becomes over 27~83% more than that of the conventional scheme according to the number of CDMA channels operated
