Abstract :
A Mobile Ad-hoc NETwork (MANET) is a wireless network set up temporarily without a wired infrastructure (routers, switches, servers, cables, access points, etc.). The wireless nodes in a MANET may move around and each one of them may need to forward packets for other components in the network. Several routing protocols such as DSR, AODV and DSDV have been proposed to facilitate communication in such a dynamically changing network topology. The base protocol used in this paper is NTP (Node Transition Probability) which has considered only the problem of providing efficient mechanisms for finding paths in very dynamic networks without considering security. Due to this, there arises number of attacks which causes wrong actions in the routing protocols. This leads to heavy drop of packets in the routing process and affects the entire routing procedure. To overcome this problem, security has been included in the routing algorithm known as SECNTP-CKM (SECurity in NTP protocol with Certificate based Key Management). The modified protocol has larger end to end delay than the base protocol. This paper provides a novel algorithm to reduce the end to end delay in SECNTP-CKM for a mobile ad hoc network.
