Abstract :
A current-source active power filter controlled by a new switching control method is presented. Its filtering efficiency is tested with two types of nonlinear load: a conventional load such as a six-pulse three-phase controlled rectifier; and a nonconventional load of a three-pulse 18-thyristor cycloconverter with balanced three-phase load. The principle of the control method which leads to a low total harmonic distortion (THD) is exposed. Analysis of the power circuit and simulation results are presented and discussed
