Abstract
A simple configuration that can be used to achieve broad band characteristics is the biconical antenna formed by two cones. In this paper the biconical dipole is modeled for examining its general characteristics. The biconical dipole with cone angle 90 degrees and its open wire structure equivalent are modeled by using WIPL-D program. The Gain and Radiation patterns are presented. The characteristics of the antenna such as VSWR, Impedance, S-Parameters over a wide frequency range (0.4 - 4 GHz) are analyzed.
