  • Abstract
Power system voltage stability issues have been recognized as a major cause of concern by power utilities. Efforts have been made to correctly predict voltage instability and take corrective measures to prevent voltage collapse. This paper reviews how artificial intelligence (AI) techniques mainly in the form of expert systems have been applied to enhance voltage stability. The paper also proposes the use of some unused techniques in the AI suite that may be fruitfully deployed to assist in power system voltage stability problems
