Abstract
The technique of constructing a low order model of a multivariable plant by matching time moments is extended to the unstable case by using a known stabilizing control law. If output stabilization is possible, the model is independent of the control law; the properties of the model when used as the basis for construction of controls and estimators to be used with the original system are analyzed.
