Abstract :
Serial-type display device has been used more and more in the instrumentations of the industrial field. In order to solve the present problems that the display devices of serial-type are low in image quality, single color in display, poor in peripheral functions and hard to carry. This paper introduced design of a serial-type LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) based on the ARM9 series micro-processing chip i.mx233. The system can communicate with the upper computer or other instruments through the reserved interface RS-232, and then display the data on LCD clearly. Meanwhile, the data transferred from the RS 232 can be transmitted wired/wirelessly via WiFi or USB. The result shows that the display of data transferred from the serial port can be realized easily through the device. Also, there are some advantages on it, for example, clear display, small size, light weight, easy to use, etc. All these superiorities decide that it can be used in the fields of smart display of the industrial control. It has a higher application value.
