Abstract
A new soft switched pulse width modulation (PWM) converter which operates a fixed frequency is proposed. The main switches are always switched at zero voltage, and the auxiliary switches are softly switched. The voltage and current stresses of the switches are minimized as in conventional PWM converters. Therefore, a high power density system can be realized. The characteristics are experimentally verified by the results of the buck type converter
