Abstract
Shallow subsurface objects with strong contrasts are capable of generating strong reflected and diffracted waves. High-resolution seismic reflection profiling in horizontal shear wave mode can easily image reflectors that are less than 10 meters below the ground surface. This research demonstrates that it is possible to image boulders down to 1 meter in diameter with the Hilbert envelope attribute. In low velocity sediments, SH wave seismic reflections can have sub-meter resolution.
