Abstract :
This paper discusses two approaches to improve performance of solar-energized absorption systems. The first approach improves part-load performance of the absorption chiller by modulating the energizing temperature to track the load and the cooling tower water temperature. The second approach improves the heat collection of the solar array by using solar storage tanks at different temperatures, and selecting the storage tank which is most appropriate to drive the absorption chiller to meet the load.
