Abstract :
Energy waste problems have become critical in modern industry society. In wireless communication systems, there are many possible improvements to reduce electricity consumption, which is effective to reduce energy waste. Traditional on-off scheme is proved to be effective to reduce energy consumption, but such operations are restricted by system parameters and assumptions, e.g. the non-ideal distribution of traffic model. In this paper, based on the method of dynamic cell selection (DCS) scheme and on-off scheme, we first use spatial modulation in conjunction with the DCS on-off scheme to reduce energy consumption and avoid the restriction. The on-off status of LTE-Advanced eNodeBs can carry the binary information, this could be used to tag information bits in PSK modulation, which is also known as spatial modulation. Simulation result under the LTE-Advanced system level simulation platform has proved that, our novel method can effectively lower the energy consumption and is easy to use.
