Abstract :
Historically, image tracking systems for real time applications have been classified as either point trackers (including edge trackers and centroid trackers) or correlation trackers. Point trackers track the location of features detected by feature extraction techniques while the correlation trackers track the location of the "best match" between the scene and a reference image. The term "correlation tracking" as used here ecompasses both maximum cross correlation and minimum distance similarity detection techniques.
